Work - Part 1 - 08/15/2014
One clutch fan for $45, one AC clutch for $110. All shipped to Steve's place for install!
All the oil leaked out and stuck to the front of the clutch. No good! Steve says the temp gauge went up 3/4 of the way before he changed this out.
Old clutch out, new clutch side by side.
Missing some bearings here... no wonder it was making bad noises!
Disc is well worn.
More oily parts to be replaced.
Puller used to get everything off, pulley looks ok.
Clutch removed without breaking refrigerant seal.
Still not bad looking.
New fan clutch instaled.
Belt has seen better days...
Compressor all fixed!
Air filter a little dirty, plastic covers for coolant and washer fluid still in good shape.
After an all day effort, Steve managed to get the AC fixed and blowing super cold at 39F out the vents. He says it cools you off as soon as you turn it on, which is a nice change from before when it didn't. The temperature doesn't get anywhere near as high either: the fan specs are from Hayden as "fan engage at 170, full lock at 210." I approve!
