November 3rd, 2001 - Vacuum Nightmares

I never liked vacuuming the house when I was younger.  My parents made me and it scarred me for life (you listening out there Oprah?).  What does this have to do with cars?  Since I have such a repulsive view of vacuuming, one can assume it would carry over to vacuum hoses too.  It was a nightmare.  Routing, cutting, run off to store for more tubing, routing cutting again since we didn't do it right the first time.

We finally got it done though.  If it doesn't start I will be mucho mad-o.

It isn't starting.  Pull plug.  No spark... hmm...  Spend 45 minutes going over wiring, find wire to distributor ignition coil is unplugged (never even touched this, must have come this way).  Plug coil wire back in and crank again.

Nothing still?  Pour fuel down carb.

WOOHOO! IT STARTS!  But doesn't stay running.  This means no fuel is being delivered.  Great.  Carb rebuild time!
