Ceilings, Paint, and You - 08/16-19/2004

After all the prep work, we hired a contractor named Jason to scrape and texture the ceilings. There was 2-3 layers of acoustic junk up there holding all of the cigarettes and cat\dog scents in. This house smelled downright funky when we got it, but we were working on improving that.

Textured ceilings are so much cleaner and nicer.

Now we get to prime and paint the ceiling. This was a complete pain in the butt. My arms are dead tired after two days of holding the roller up. Lisa is tired from touch up work too.

Jason did a good job texturing the ceilings and walls.

Sadie helped paint and now has paint butt and paint tail.

Adding new carpet really killed any nasty smells left by the previous owners.

New carpet looking good...

Yeah...

I like it.

Whew. Lots of work in just a few short days.

All that's left now is to paint the walls! We are out of time before the furniture arrives in the morning though. We went from a 925 square foot house that we sold most of our stuff from to a 1600 square foot house so we don't have to worry about filling it up (unlike when Mom and Dad moved to Santa Barbara and did it in reverse).
