A California Christmas - 12/26/2004
Christmas in southern California is a little different than in the rest of the US. It isn't really that cold, so it may as well just be any other time. So we have to do what we can do get in the Christmas spirit! And it's a Christmas tree, not a Giving Tree and it's Christmas, not Holiday time. Focus on Jesus, not some secular entity made up to make everyone feel good about themselves. All that good stuff.
We had to hang Christmas lights to get the house to look nice. Everyone else in the neighborhood does it and Lisa enjoys it, so why not?
Lights on the lattice work.
Lights on the roof!
Sadie helps by scouting the perimeter.
Mia is too young to be trusted, so she stays in her crate.
Lights in the dark...
More lights in the dark. One or two burned out and the color definitely chipped, but that's the price you pay for being in the Christmas spirit!
Lisa wraps presents in front of the tree. The girls help.
Lisa's family comes in for Christmas! Notice Denise isn't here looking for a handout or her crack pipe.
Deborah and Bobby open presents.
Bobby gets Dodgeball (complete with sweatband).
Sadie gets her favorite present: daddy loving.
Sadie stakes her spot on the couch out.
Mia stays in her house because she is a butthead towards everyone.
Merry Christmas!
